Have you ever wondered what Hypnosis can help with beyond smoking and weight management? Many don’t realize the broad spectrum of issues this much misunderstood modality addresses. Many athletes both amateur and pro use hypnosis. Tiger Woods is one well known example. He uses hypnosis to get in the zone which he achieves by relaxing both physically and mentally. Many Major League baseball teams use sports psychologists to induce this wonderful state. Hypnosis is defined as a state of deep relaxation coupled with powerful focus, so when the mind and body are loose and you couple this with concentration, performance at sports improves. I like to use creative visualization when my clients are hypnotized so that they can see themselves performing at their sport. We know that the same part of the brain that is activated in trance is used when actually doing the sport.
I have over the years, hypnotized athletes for baseball, tennis, gymnastics, billiards and quite a few golfers. I use it myself and it really helps my performance immensely. So how can this aspect of Hypnosis help Focus 28 readers? Well the same visualization techniques in sports performance can be used to help you see yourself healing faster ftom bariatric surgery and eating properly. The more you do it, the more effective it is. You can see yourself acting healthier and becoming slimmer. Many of my clients find themselves more motivated to exercise and eating healthy foods.

Almost everyone has heard of it and is curious about it, but too few actually understand it. What exactly is this fascinating process all about? How does it work, and why?
When most people hear the word “Hypnosis”, they often think that this modality lies somewhere between Vegas and voodoo. The truth is that Hypnosis is an innate power that we all possess and can enable each and everyone of us to transform our thinking , attitudes and our bodies to help us reach the goals we desire. It has been recognized as a powerful and effective modality by the American Medical Association since the 1950’s and is used by Doctors, Dentists, Mental Health Professionals and other healers for everything from the physical body to the emotions of our minds.
Hypnosis is not some “new age” process. It has been around since the beginning of mankind. I refer to it as a natural and organic state that we’ve all experienced on our own thousands of times. Have you ever driven to that exit on the way to some place, but you don’t remember how you got there? Even though you were operating that vehicle perfectly , you were driving along in hypnosis. When you daydream or when you perform at sports or performing without any real hard thinking or are just “in the zone” , you were in hypnosis.
